Fishing

The Lodge is located within an area that offers some of the best coarse angling in Europe. All of our angling guests have access to a tackle room, drying facilities and a bait fridge. Boat hire can also be arranged.

The principal coarse fisheries are the Shannon, Lough Ree, River Inny, Lough Derravaragh, The headwaters of the Erne System- Lough Gowna, The Royal and Grand Canals, Drumconrath Lakes and the Laois Lakes.

All species of Coarse fish are available including Bream, Roach, Rudd, Hybrids, Tench, Perch and Carp in selected waters. Well established centres throughout the region include: Lanesboro, Athlone, Ballymahon, Mullingar, Clondra, Abbeyshrule, North Longford, Edenderry, Prosperous, Drumconrath, Vicarstown and the Blessington Lakes. Some of the best Pike fishing waters in the country are available in the region, namely: Lough Ree, the Shannon, the River Inny, Lough Derravaragha and the Gowna lakes. However it should be noted that pike can be caught in almost all waters.
